Al Torres was always an advocate for equestrians in the parks, including Arroyo Seco and Hansen Dam too . iv been an ETI member and a horse owner and avid trail rider for 60 years and boarded my horse at Sunset Ranch for 25 years. Al always answered requests for trail repairs, helped expedite safety issues in the parks, got Arroyo Seco dog park fences patched when dogs escaped, attacking horses, addressed litter in Big Tujunga wash trail areas and endless Griffith park trail issues over the years. What a loss his passing is to us all. I would run into him all the time both on the trails and at park meetings over the years. He is sorely missed! Im so sad to have missed his memorial plaque celebration. I didnt hear about it until today! He is well deserving of such recognition. Thankyou!!!
